2016 Cannonball Chardonnay

WINEMAKER NOTES

The 2016 ripening season temperatures were a little cooler than normal giving the grapes a long hang time for optimum ripeness. The vintage is characterized with richness, classic varietal character and opulence.

The wine was crafted to highlight delicacy and finesse over structure and intensity. The oak impact and malo-lactic influence were kept to a minimum, allowing for the wine to show its noble heritage. The Chardonnay was then fermented and aged in 50% French oak and 50%
stainless steel, creating a wine both expressive and wonderfully balanced.

The aroma displays well-integrated but distinctive character. Gravenstein apple, peaches and melon are framed with a touch of toastiness.

The taste has a full entry and continues with light melon and citrus flavors. The wine finishes with a smooth texture, delicate flavors and a long, bright finish.
